What the Platform Competition involves for a Competitor

Competitors should carefully read the Rules to ensure eligibility and conformity and the dates for the next competition.

After initial acceptance carried out by independent adjudicators on the basis of the application form, the Platform competition takes place in two stages. There is an Audition for all applicants who are accepted. Each competitor is allocated a day and time for their Audition during the first two days of the Platform competition. From those Auditions, finalists are selected for both the junior and senior sections. The Auditions and Final are held in Routh Concert Hall at Bromsgrove School.

The final round is known as The Finalists' Concert. It takes place on the third day of the Platform before a live audience during the afternoon in the Routh Concert Hall. 


The 2025 Platform auditions take place during February half-term (Friday, 21st February 2025 and Saturday, 22nd February 2025) in Routh Concert Hall at Bromsgrove School. The Final takes place on the afternoon of Saturday, 31st May 2025. Please read on to find out how you can compete or join us in the audience to support our young musicians.
